A clasp is a metallic device that holds a removable partial denture or an orthodontic appliance to stationary teeth that are in the mouth. Clasps give appliances more stability when they are in the mouth, enabling them from moving or even falling out. Stability is mostly important for removable partial dentures that a person uses while eating.
