Dental braces, also known as orthodontic braces, or braces, are bracket and wire devices used in orthodontics to align and straighten teeth. There are different materials used for braces. Metallic braces are the most widely used. Composite and ceramic brackets are starting to become more popular because of their clear colour, which makes them more aesthetic. Braces help position teeth to obtain a more aligned bite to correct malocclusions and achieve a nicer looking smile.
