Chott el Djerid Salt Desert
| Chott el Djerid is a large endorheic salt lake, where rain that falls within it does not flow out but may only leave by evaporation and seepage. It is the largest salt pan of the Sahara. The lake can be crossed by foot and even by car, but this is very dangerous since the salt crust isn't always too firm. |
